Changing the Face of Homelessness.

I am one of the many faces of Homelessness but Homelessness is just a part of my life, it doesn’t define who I am. I want to share my story with other youth to help inspire them and show that they don’t have to be another statistic. I attend Oregon state university in Corvallis. I am studying bio-health sciences with a pre-med focus in order to become a neonatologist

Platform: People helping all people…centered on enhancing the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Career Goal: To study Audiology and specialize in Cochlear implants for children.

Miss Jackson County’s Outstanding Teen

Sophie Elam

School: Junior at North High

Platform: Community land restoration and stewardship.

Career Goal: Research Biologist.

In 2005 the Miss America Organization introduced Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization aimed to “promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens.”

Rising Stars Royal Court

The Rising Star program was started to be a scholarship fundraiser for the local, State, and National pageants.
